Ingredients

  • 1 Nonstick cooking spray for coating
  • 1 package (8 oz) crescent roll dough refrigerated
  • 24 smoked sausages cocktail-size, about 12 ounces, drained and patted dry
  • 2 tbsp butter unsalted, melted

Equipment

  • 1 6-quart air fryer

Method

  1. Preheat a 6-quart air fryer to 350°F for 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly coat the basket with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
  4. Cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 narrow strips.
  5. Wrap one sausage in each strip, starting at the wide end, and pinch the dough seam closed.
  6. Brush each wrapped sausage with the melted butter.
  7. Arrange 6 to 8 pieces in a single layer in the basket, leaving space between them.
  8. Air fry at 350°F for 7 to 9 minutes, until the pastry is puffed, deep golden, and cooked through.
  9. Repeat with the remaining pieces, letting the air fryer return to temperature if needed.

Notes

For even browning, leave space between the pieces and cook in batches. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freeze baked pigs in a blanket for up to 2 months. For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free crescent dough if available.
