Ingredients

  • 3 limes medium; 2 juiced and 1 cut into wedges
  • 2 cup ice divided
  • 4 oz blanco tequila
  • 2 oz orange liqueur such as triple sec
  • 2 oz cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 oz simple syrup

Equipment

  • 2 8-ounce rocks glasses
  • 1 cocktail shaker

Method

  1. Juice 2 medium limes.
  2. Cut the remaining medium lime into wedges.
  3. Divide 1 cup of ice between two 8-ounce rocks glasses.
  4. Add the tequila, orange liqueur, cranberry juice cocktail, 2 ounces of fresh lime juice, simple syrup, and remaining 1 cup of ice to a cocktail shaker.
  5. Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds, until the shaker feels very cold.
  6. Strain evenly into the prepared glasses.
  7. Garnish with lime wedges.

Notes

For the brightest flavor, juice the limes just before making the drinks. Refrigerate leftover strained margarita without ice for up to 1 day; do not freeze. Use zero-sugar simple syrup for a lower-sugar option.
