Ingredients

  • 1 lb refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 ball (8 oz) fresh mozzarella drained, patted dry, and cut into 12 slices
  • 0.33 cup ripe black olives sliced and drained

Equipment

  • 1 14-inch pizza pan

Method

  1. Let the refrigerated pizza dough sit at room temperature, covered, for 30 minutes.
  2. Heat the oven to 450°F.
  3. Coat a 14-inch pizza pan with the olive oil.
  4. Stretch the dough evenly over the pan, pressing it gently to the edges.
  5. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce.
  7. Arrange the fresh mozzarella slices on top, then place one or two olive slices in the center of each slice and scatter any remaining olives over the pizza.
  8. Bake for 14 to 18 minutes, until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
  9. Let the pizza rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For a crispier crust, pat the fresh mozzarella thoroughly dry before arranging it on the pizza. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freezing is suitable for up to 2 months. For a dairy-free option, use dairy-free mozzarella.
