Ingredients

For the apple filling
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 Granny Smith apple medium, peeled, cored, and cut into 1/4-inch dice
  • 1 tbsp light brown sugar packed
  • 0.25 tsp ground cinnamon
For the bites
  • 1 can (8 oz) crescent roll dough refrigerated, 8 count
For the caramel topping
  • 0.25 cup caramel sauce

Equipment

  • 1 10-inch skillet
  • 1 5.8-quart air fryer

Method

Make the filling
  1. Melt the butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat.
  2. Stir in the apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon; cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring often, until the apple is tender but still holds its shape.
  3. Let the filling cool for 10 minutes.
Assemble and air-fry
  1. Preheat a 5.8-quart air fryer to 325°F for 3 minutes.
  2. Separate the dough into 8 triangles and place about 1 tablespoon of filling at the wide end of each.
  3. Fold the edges over the filling, roll toward the point, and pinch the seams closed.
  4. Arrange the bites seam-side down on a perforated air-fryer parchment liner, leaving space between them, and place the liner in the basket only after the bites are on it.
  5. Air-fry at 325°F for 8–10 minutes, working in batches if needed, until the bites are golden brown and cooked through.
Finish with caramel
  1. Let the bites cool for 5 minutes.
  2. Warm the caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for 10–15 seconds, until pourable.
  3. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the bites.

Notes

For the best texture, leave space between the bites and air-fry in batches if needed. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freeze the bites without caramel for up to 2 months and reheat in the air fryer. For a dairy-free variation, use dairy-free butter and caramel sauce, and check the crescent dough label.
