Method
Make the filling
- Melt the butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat.
- Stir in the apple, brown sugar, and cinnamon; cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring often, until the apple is tender but still holds its shape.
- Let the filling cool for 10 minutes.
Assemble and air-fry
- Preheat a 5.8-quart air fryer to 325°F for 3 minutes.
- Separate the dough into 8 triangles and place about 1 tablespoon of filling at the wide end of each.
- Fold the edges over the filling, roll toward the point, and pinch the seams closed.
- Arrange the bites seam-side down on a perforated air-fryer parchment liner, leaving space between them, and place the liner in the basket only after the bites are on it.
- Air-fry at 325°F for 8–10 minutes, working in batches if needed, until the bites are golden brown and cooked through.
Finish with caramel
- Let the bites cool for 5 minutes.
- Warm the caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for 10–15 seconds, until pourable.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the bites.
Notes
For the best texture, leave space between the bites and air-fry in batches if needed. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freeze the bites without caramel for up to 2 months and reheat in the air fryer. For a dairy-free variation, use dairy-free butter and caramel sauce, and check the crescent dough label.
