Ingredients

  • 1 lb cremini mushrooms wiped clean and halved if large
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • 1 6-quart air fryer

Method

  1. Preheat a 6-quart air fryer to 380°F.
  2. Toss the mushrooms with the olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Arrange the mushrooms in the air fryer basket and cook for 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
  4. While the mushrooms cook, melt the butter in a small microwave-safe bowl.
  5. Stir the garlic into the melted butter.
  6. Pour the garlic butter over the mushrooms and toss to coat.
  7. Air-fry for 3 to 5 minutes, until the mushrooms are tender and browned and the garlic is fragrant.
  8. Transfer the mushrooms to a serving dish.
  9. Toss the mushrooms with the parsley and serve.

Notes

For the best browning, arrange the mushrooms in a single layer without overcrowding the basket. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 4 days; freezing is not recommended. For a dairy-free version, use plant-based butter.
