Ingredients

  • 1 cooking spray nonstick
  • 5 cups bread cubes unseasoned dried
  • 8 oz bulk pork sausage
  • 1 cup celery finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup yellow onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp dried rubbed sage
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1.25 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 egg large
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley chopped

Equipment

  • 1 6-quart air fryer
  • 1 8-inch round, 2-inch-deep oven-safe cake pan
  • 1 10-inch skillet

Method

  1. Preheat a 6-quart air fryer to 320°F for 3 minutes.
  2. Coat an 8-inch round, 2-inch-deep oven-safe cake pan with nonstick cooking spray.
  3. Cook the sausage in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat for 5–7 minutes, breaking it into small pieces, until no pink remains and it reaches 160°F.
  4. Add the celery and onion and cook for 4–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened.
  5. Stir the sage, thyme, salt, and pepper into the sausage mixture.
  6. Put the bread cubes and parsley in a large bowl, then stir in the sausage mixture.
  7. Whisk the broth and egg in a separate bowl, pour over the bread mixture, and toss until evenly moistened.
  8. Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes.
  9. Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and cover it with foil, securing the foil under the pan’s rim.
  10. Air fry at 320°F for 15 minutes.
  11. Carefully remove the foil and air fry for 8–12 minutes more, until the top is golden and crisp and the center reaches 160°F.
  12. Rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For an even bake, spread the stuffing in an even layer in the pan. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days; freeze for up to 2 months. Turkey sausage can replace pork sausage if desired.
