Ingredients

  • 2 can (14.5 oz) green beans cut, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup condensed
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 0.25 tsp black pepper
  • 1.33 cup crispy fried onions divided

Equipment

  • 1 1 1/2-quart casserole dish

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish, mix the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  3. Stir in 2/3 cup of the crispy fried onions.
  4. Bake uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes, until hot and bubbling around the edges.
  5. Stir the casserole.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining 2/3 cup crispy fried onions evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 5 minutes, until the onions are golden and crisp.

Notes

Drain the green beans thoroughly to help prevent a watery casserole. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 to 4 days; freezing is not recommended because the fried onions lose their crisp texture. For a gluten-free option, use certified gluten-free cream of mushroom soup and crispy fried onions.
