Ingredients

  • 1 bag (12 oz) fresh cranberries rinsed and picked over
  • 1 navel orange medium; finely grated zest and segments, seeds removed
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar

Equipment

  • 1 7-cup food processor

Method

  1. Zest the orange, then peel it and remove any seeds; cut the flesh into pieces.
  2. Put the cranberries, orange zest, orange pieces, and sugar in a 7-cup food processor and pulse until finely chopped, scraping down the sides as needed.
  3. Transfer the relish to a covered container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

For the best texture, pulse just until finely chopped and avoid processing into a puree. Refrigerate in a covered container for up to 5 days; freezer storage is suitable. For a lower-sugar option, use a granulated sugar substitute according to its package conversion.
